Frequently asked questions

Is Qelzoro free? Does it handle money?

Qelzoro is free and has no fees. It is a bookkeeping app: it keeps track of shared expenses and balances, but it never sends, receives, or holds money, and it never asks for card or bank details.

How do I create an account or reset my password?

Open the app and choose Create account, then enter your email address and a password. If you forget your password, tap Forgot password? on the sign-in screen. When you are signed in, you can also go to Account › Security › Send password reset email.

How do I invite someone to a group?

  1. The person needs a Qelzoro account. Ask them for their Qelzoro handle.
  2. Open the group, tap the settings (gear) button, and choose Invite person.
  3. Enter their handle, choose whether they can edit expenses (Editor) or only view them (Viewer), and send.
  4. They will see the invitation under Invitations on their Groups tab and can accept or decline it. Invitations expire after 14 days.

Only the group’s owner can send invitations. The person can see the group only after accepting.

How does “Settle up” work?

In a group, tap Settle up to see who should pay whom to clear a balance. Pay each other however you like (cash, a bank transfer, or a payment app), then come back to Qelzoro and tap Record. Qelzoro adds a settlement entry and updates everyone’s balances. Settling up only records the payment; Qelzoro does not move any money.

Who can see my expenses?

Everyone in a group can see that group’s expenses, comments, settlements, and members’ names and handles. People outside the group cannot. Read more in our Privacy Policy.

How do I leave a group?

Open the group, tap the settings (gear) button, and choose Leave group. You can leave once your balance in that group is settled. Your past expenses stay in the group’s history for the other members. If you own the group, transfer ownership to another member first, or delete the group.

How do I export my data?

Go to Account › Export & privacy › Export ledger CSV. This creates a CSV file of the ledger stored on your device (group, date, title, amount, who paid, category, split, and each person’s share) that you can save or share and open in any spreadsheet app.

How do I delete my account?

Go to the Account tab and tap Delete account. Deletion is scheduled for 30 days later, and the date is shown on the Account tab. Until processing begins, you can tap Cancel scheduled deletion to keep your account. After deletion, your login and profile are removed, and your entries in shared groups remain as “Former member” so other people’s balances stay correct. The Privacy Policy explains exactly what is deleted and what is kept. If you cannot access the app, email hello@qelzoro.com from the address on your account.

Does signing out delete my data?

No. Signing out removes your saved session from that device. Your account and shared groups are unchanged, and you can sign back in at any time.
